TLDR Convulsofin effectively treats primary epilepsy but has some side effects.
The study conducted in 1981 tested Convulsofin on 220 patients across 14 clinics over six months, confirming its effectiveness in treating generalized primary epilepsy, similar to valproic acid and sodium valproinate. Convulsofin was found to be particularly effective in managing photosensitivity and could be used as a co-medication for therapy-resistant forms of generalized secondary and partial epilepsy. However, side effects such as decreased thrombocytes, transient increases in serum transaminases, gastrointestinal disorders, hair loss, and weight gain were noted.
