Epidemiology and Hemato-Biochemical Changes in Mange-Infested Camels

    The study investigated mange infestation in camels, focusing on 21 positive cases from a veterinary complex and surrounding villages. The camels were divided into groups, with one serving as a control. The prevalence of sarcoptic mange was highest in camels older than 6 years and more common in females. Mange-infested camels showed significant decreases in haemoglobin, erythrocyte count, and other haematological values, while leukocyte count and certain biochemical markers like serum creatinine and copper concentrations increased, indicating hepatocellular and renal damage. These findings highlighted the health impacts of mange on camels.
