Epidemiological and investigative study of premature graying of hair in higher secondary and pre-university school children

Specifically, 45.7% of the subjects with premature graying were deficient in vitamin D3, and 54.3% had insufficient levels, in contrast to 20% and 45.7% respectively in the control group. No significant differences were observed in hemoglobin, total iron binding capacity, serum iron, and vitamin B12 levels. The study suggests a genetic predisposition to premature graying and highlights the need for further research on the role of vitamin D3.
