    A case was presented of a patient with alopecia areata treated with diphencyprone, which caused contact dermatitis on the scalp, leading to complete hair regrowth. However, four months later, the patient experienced significant hair loss consistent with telogen effluvium. The author highlighted the potential for telogen effluvium following contact dermatitis, noting that inducing contact dermatitis is a common treatment for alopecia areata.
