TLDR The nail strengthener with Pistacia lentiscus and hyaluronic acid improves brittle nails' appearance and strength.
The study evaluated a water-soluble nail strengthener (WSNS) containing Pistacia lentiscus and hyaluronic acid for treating brittle nails. In vitro tests on bovine hooves showed a significant increase in nail firmness with WSNS application. A clinical study with 23 female participants demonstrated that WSNS improved nail appearance and strength after 28 and 84 days of daily use, while untreated nails showed no improvement. The product was well tolerated and its hydrosolubility and ease of application contributed to good compliance, making it a valuable tool for enhancing brittle nails.
