TLDR High-flux hemodialysis with L-carnitine improves heart function, reduces inflammation, and enhances quality of life in patients.
The study investigated the effects of high-flux hemodialysis combined with L-carnitine on 65 maintenance hemodialysis patients, divided into a control group (30 patients) and an experimental group (35 patients). The experimental group showed a significantly higher total effective treatment rate compared to the control group. Improvements were observed in heart function, with lower levels of LVST and LEVDD and higher LVEF in the experimental group. Quality of life scores (GQOLI-74) and HAD scores were better in the experimental group, and they experienced fewer venous fistula complications. Additionally, microinflammatory markers hs-CRP and TNF-α were significantly lower in the experimental group. The study concluded that the combined therapy effectively reduced inflammatory factors, improved heart function, enhanced living standards, reduced intravenous fistula complications, and improved prognosis, suggesting it is worthy of promotion.
