TLDR The Editor-in-Chief is proud of the journal's growth and improvements during his term and optimistic about its future.
The Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery, Venkataram Mysore, expressed satisfaction and pride as he completed his three-year term. During his tenure, the journal transitioned from a biannual to a quarterly publication, saw an increase in article submissions (with 25% coming from international contributors), and experienced a rise in its impact factor. The journal also expanded its scope to include various fields such as plastic surgery and maxillofacial surgery, introduced focus issues on topics like hair restoration and vitiligo surgery, and achieved financial stability without relying on association funds. Notably, it became the first journal in its field in India to be indexed, a significant accomplishment within the first two years of its inception. Mysore acknowledged the support from the executive committee, editorial board members, the publisher Medknow, and his editorial team, and he expressed gratitude to the contributors and association members. He concluded with a sense of achievement and optimism for the journal's future under the new Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Somesh Gupta.
