TLDR A young man was diagnosed with trichoepitheliomas, causing thick skin and hair loss.
A young man in his 20s presented with diffuse skin thickening and alopecia, leading to a diagnosis of trichoepitheliomas, a tumor of hair follicle origin. The patient exhibited smooth, shiny, wrinkle-free skin with waxy papular lesions and hair loss in the eyebrows, moustache, and beard areas. Histological examination revealed basaloid cell aggregates with peripheral palisading and multiple horn cysts, excluding other conditions like lepromatous leprosy and scleromyxedema. The case highlighted the importance of histological evaluation in diagnosing trichoepithelioma, especially when presenting with leonine facies and alopecia.
