TLDR The Greek DCQ is a reliable and valid tool for assessing dysmorphic concern.
The study evaluated the Greek version of the Dysmorphic Concern Questionnaire (DCQ) for its reliability and validity. It involved 88 healthy individuals and 32 individuals with body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). The DCQ demonstrated high internal consistency with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.933 and accounted for 71.4% of the total variance. Significant differences were found between healthy and BDD groups on the SCL-90 scale, and strong correlations were observed between DCQ scores and other psychometric scales like SCL-90, EPQ, and ZUNG. The study concluded that the Greek DCQ is a valid and reliable tool for assessing dysmorphic concern in both research and clinical settings.
