TLDR DPSCs and SHED have great potential for medical treatments and tissue repair.
Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) and stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED) were highlighted for their potential in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine due to their ability to self-renew and differentiate into multiple cell types. Unlike embryonic stem cells, DPSCs and SHED posed fewer ethical concerns as they were easily accessible and non-invasive. The document emphasized the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to advance clinical applications of these stem cells, noting their potential for use in cell-based therapies and bio-artificial tissue constructs.
