TLDR Certain miRNAs are linked to Cashmere goat hair quality.
The study investigated miRNAs in the skin of Liaoning Cashmere goats during the anagen phase, identifying 464 known and 45 novel miRNAs through high-throughput sequencing. KEGG enrichment analysis revealed significant miRNA involvement in pathways like progesterone-mediated oocyte maturation and the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. Protein-protein interaction analysis highlighted PCNA, RPL11, and RPS13 as potential research targets. Verification by qPCR of 27 miRNAs showed that miR-30a-5p, miR-30e-5p, and miR-101 had varying expressions linked to Cashmere fineness, offering new insights into goat skin biology.
