TLDR Allergic skin issues are most common in children, and understanding these problems should be prioritized.
The study analyzed 307 pediatric cases at the Dermatology Clinic of the Federal University of Pernambuco from May 1999 to May 2000. It found that allergic dermatoses were the most common (17.64%), followed by pigmentary disorders (15.54%) and viral infections (13.44%). The high incidence of infections was likely linked to the low socioeconomic status of the patients. The study concluded that understanding the epidemiology of skin problems in children should be prioritized in future research.
