TLDR People with Down's syndrome often have more skin problems due to a weak immune system.
In 2001, a review of the medical literature highlighted that Down's syndrome (DS) is linked with a higher occurrence of various dermatological conditions, which may be connected to an immunological deficiency. Despite the extensive research on DS, which is known for mental retardation and distinct physical features, the skin-related manifestations often did not receive the necessary attention. Recognizing these dermatological issues is crucial for providing thorough medical care to individuals with DS.
