TLDR Only hair transplants showed noticeable and lasting results for hair regrowth.
The document reviewed non-hormonal treatments for androgenetic alopecia in both men and women, highlighting the use of systemic therapies like hair-specific vitamins and topical applications such as 2% Minoxidil. These treatments aimed to normalize androgenic hair loss, but their effectiveness needed verification through comparative studies using trichograms and phototrichograms. Despite these options, no medical or cosmetic product at the time could promise significant and permanent hair regrowth. The only method that provided noticeable and aesthetically pleasing results was micrograft reimplantation, which involved transplanting hair strand by strand into bald areas.
