TLDR Treating hematospermia can improve sexual function and reduce anxiety.
A case study of a 36-year-old man with concurrent hematospermia and anorgasmia demonstrated that simultaneous cystoscopy, electroejaculation (EEJ), transurethral resection of ejaculatory ducts (TURED), and seminal vesiculography can be safe and effective for diagnosis and treatment. The patient experienced significant anxiety and avoidance of sexual activity due to hematospermia, which was not alleviated by previous treatments. The procedures revealed hypoplastic seminal vesicles and resolved the hematospermia, leading to improved libido and willingness to engage in sexual activity. This study suggests a causal link between hematospermia and sexual dysfunction, highlighting the importance of thorough evaluation and treatment to address both physical and psychological aspects.
