This study compared the efficacy and safety of topical cetirizine 1% and minoxidil 5% in treating male androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 40 male patients. Results showed that minoxidil was more effective in improving hair diameter, terminal hair count, and reducing vellus hair count by weeks 16 and 24. Cetirizine also showed significant improvement, particularly by week 24, and had an excellent safety profile with no adverse events. Patient satisfaction was similar between the groups, though more patients in the minoxidil group reported "excellent" outcomes. Overall, both treatments were effective, with minoxidil being more effective.
