TLDR Zinc sulfate solution is more effective than tea lotion for treating acne rosacea.
In a study by Sharquie et al., the efficacy of 2% tea lotion was compared with 5% zinc sulfate solution in the treatment of acne rosacea. The study found that while tea lotion had some effect on rosacea, it was not statistically significant. On the other hand, the zinc sulfate solution showed a significant decrease in the number of papules and pustules one month after treatment began, confirming its superiority over the tea lotion for this condition. This result contrasts with a previous study by the same authors, where 2% tea lotion was more effective than 5% zinc sulfate solution in treating acne vulgaris. Both 5% zinc solution and 2% tea lotion are effective treatments for acne rosacea, but zinc sulfate solution is more effective.
