TLDR Combining zinc hyaluronate electroporation with photostimulating therapy is more effective for treating hair loss in men and women.
In 2012, a study was conducted by T.N.Korolkova, E.E.Kharitonova, A.P.Bezuglyi, P.A.Belkov on 91 patients with androgenic alopecia to compare the effectiveness of zinc hyaluronate electroporation (ZHE) and ZHE combined with pulsed photostimulatory therapy. The results showed that both treatments increased hair density, the relative amount of anagen hair, and the average diameter of all hair, while decreasing the relative amount of telogen hair and vellus hair. However, the combination therapy showed significantly better results, increasing the relative amount of anagen hair by 15.5% after 1 month and 28.6% after 4 months, and increasing the average hair diameter by 10.7% after 1 month and 25.5% after 4 months. The combination therapy also increased the duration of the treatment results. Therefore, the study concluded that the combination of ZHE and photostimulating therapy was recommended for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia in men and women.
