TLDR Improving cage hygiene and sanitation is crucial to prevent colisepticemia in chickens.
The study investigates a case of colisepticemia in a 27-day-old broiler chicken from a farm in Darmasaba Village, Bali. The diagnosis followed protocol 621/H/23, utilizing anamnestic data, clinical signs, and various examinations. Clinical signs included thinness, weakness, hair loss, and a bloated abdomen. Pathological examinations revealed lesions typical of Escherichia coli infection, with fibrin membranes in the lungs, heart, and liver, and histopathological findings of necrosis and inflammation. Bacteriological tests confirmed E. coli presence, and stool examinations identified Eimeria tenela oocysts. The study concludes that the chicken was diagnosed with colisepticemia, emphasizing the importance of cage hygiene and sanitation to prevent disease transmission.
