TLDR Childhood obesity is linked to early puberty and affects brain function.
Childhood obesity is a growing global health issue linked to early puberty, with a significant number of children with premature pubarche being obese. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) techniques are valuable for understanding the pathophysiology of obesity and its impact on brain function. The review highlights the need for more neuroimaging studies to explore the relationship between premature pubarche, obesity, and brain functionality, as current research in this area is limited.
