TLDR The treatments helped the girl's hair grow back, but more research is needed for different types of hair loss.
In this clinical study from 2013, a 13-year-old girl with various types of alopecia was treated with a combination of herbal medication, Hominis placenta pharmacopuncture microneedle therapy, Ganoderma lucidum pharmacopuncture mesotherapy, meridian pharmacopuncture therapy, and physiotherapy for 20 months. Despite experiencing a relapse of hair loss with changing alopecia types, the treatments ultimately resolved the alopecia and maintained hair growth. The study concluded that Korean medical treatments showed effectiveness for pediatric alopecia, but emphasized the need for further research on patients with different types of alopecia.
