TLDR Bullous pyoderma gangrenosum can develop on cesarean scars and may require steroids for treatment.
A 34-year-old woman developed bullous pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) on her cesarean section scar postpartum, characterized by bullous lesions, fever, and elevated C-reactive protein levels. Despite initial antibiotic treatment, her condition did not improve until she was administered oral prednisolone, which resolved the symptoms within 2 weeks. This case is notable as it is the first reported instance of bullous PG on a cesarean scar, highlighting the potential overlap between PG and bullous Sweet's syndrome. The findings suggest that immune system alterations during pregnancy and surgical invasion may predispose certain patients to PG.
