TLDR Low vitamin D levels can significantly contribute to hair loss, especially in women aged 35-45. Correcting these levels early may help prevent and treat this condition.
The study examined the relationship between vitamin D levels and female pattern hair loss (FPHL), reviewing medical records of 48 patients with dermatological conditions. Results indicated that low vitamin D levels significantly affect hair loss, with an odds ratio estimated at 3.545. This impact was significantly prevalent for women aged 35 - 45 and moderately impacted those aged 55 - 65. The study concluded that vitamin D plays a significant role in hair loss, suggesting that early correction of vitamin D levels may aid in prevention and treatment, particularly in women aged 35 - 45.
