TLDR Geriatric tourists in Turkey mainly seek thermal treatments and medical services in major cities.
The document explored geriatric tourism, which differed from third age tourism by focusing on medical and therapeutic needs of older adults, such as physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and thermal treatments. The study analyzed geriatric tourism in Turkey, revealing that tourists primarily sought thermal treatments, physical medicine, rehabilitation, and hair transplantation. These tourists, mainly from the Middle East, Europe, and CIS countries, preferred cities like İzmir, Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya, and Bursa due to cost-effectiveness, quality medical services, and abundant thermal resources. The study highlighted the importance of integrating healthcare services into tourism to enhance the well-being and quality of life for senior tourists.
