TLDR Hibiscus micranthus leaf extract is safe and effective for antibacterial and wound healing.
The study investigates the antibacterial and wound healing activities of an 80% methanol extract of Hibiscus micranthus leaves. The antibacterial screening was conducted using disc diffusion methods against various bacterial strains, including S. aureus and E. coli. The wound healing activity was tested on rats divided into four groups, with Groups III and IV treated with 5% and 10% extracts, respectively. The results showed significant antibacterial and wound healing properties, supporting the traditional use of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis in treating infections and wounds. The study also included acute oral toxicity and skin sensitivity tests, confirming the safety of the extract.
