TLDR Most hair loss shampoos have unproven active ingredients.
The study analyzed 41 trichological shampoos from 16 producers on the Polish market, identifying 111 ingredients declared as "active" against hair loss, with an average of 2.7 active ingredients per product. The most common active ingredients were Serenoa serrulata fruit extract, Capsicum frutescens extract, and caffeine. Notably, 67.5% of these ingredients were found in only one product, raising concerns about the scientific evidence supporting their efficacy. The study highlights the need for further research to verify the claims made by producers regarding these active ingredients.
