This case report details the treatment of alopecia X in a male German Spitz, characterized by symmetrical hair loss. The dog underwent orchiectomy and received melatonin for 3 months, resulting in partial hair regrowth and reduced alopecic areas after 90 days. The treatment also included the Qpelo food supplement to aid hair growth. The report highlights the significance of treating alopecia for the dog's health, as fur plays a vital role in thermoregulation and UV protection. Further evaluation will determine if additional treatments, such as microneedling, are necessary.
