A 13-year-old girl with extensive alopecia areata, affecting over 50% of her scalp, was treated with a combination of 88% phenol and intravenous dexamethasone pulses. She underwent 5 sessions of phenolisation and 4 monthly dexamethasone pulses over 4 months. The treatment resulted in significant hair regrowth with no recurrence after 6 months of follow-up.
