TLDR Combining paroxetine and triamcinolone effectively treats both alopecia areata and depression.
The study discussed the early resolution of alopecia areata with comorbid depression using a combined treatment of paroxetine and triamcinolone. The authors, affiliated with various departments of psychiatry and dermatology in Italy and Spain, observed that this combination therapy was effective in addressing both the psychological and dermatological aspects of the condition. The findings suggested that integrating psychiatric and dermatological treatments could be beneficial for patients suffering from both alopecia areata and depression.
