    TLDR PRC2 is not essential for hair follicle stem cell maintenance or hair growth.
    The study investigated the role of Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2) in hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) and found that PRC2 played a non-instructive role in adult HFSCs. Using in vivo loss-of-function studies, researchers discovered that the absence of PRC2 did not affect HFSC quiescence or cell identity. Despite the upregulation of genes associated with the activated state of HFSCs in PRC2-null quiescent HFSCs, the transcriptional program regulated by PRC2 was found to be dispensable for maintaining HFSC quiescence and hair regeneration.
