Adenohypophysitis Associated with Sebaceous Gland Atrophy in a Dog

This document described a case of a 9-year-old Samoyed dog with chronic sebaceous adenitis, characterized by the absence of sebaceous glands and associated with adenohypophysitis. The dog exhibited symptoms such as generalized dermatitis, blepharitis, partial alopecia, and scaly skin, which were unresponsive to conventional medical therapy. Histological examination revealed the absence of sebaceous glands, lymphoplasmacytic infiltration around hair follicles, and changes in the adenohypophysis with decreased acidophilic and basophilic cells. The findings suggested a non-granulomatous variant of sebaceous adenitis, differing from previously described cases.
