This study examined the association between the ACE1 rs1799752 polymorphism and long-COVID symptoms in 288 previously hospitalized COVID-19 survivors, finding no significant differences in symptoms based on genotypes. The results align with previous research on ACE2 and TMPRSS2 polymorphisms, suggesting that genetic variability might explain the lack of association. The study highlights that COVID-19 severity does not necessarily correlate with long-COVID development and calls for larger, population-based studies to further investigate these findings.
