    The study explored the forensic application of detecting AB(O)-system antigens and keratin polymorphism in hair. Researchers extracted hair proteins using a specific buffer and analyzed them through gradient polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. They demonstrated that a single 5 cm hair, previously analyzed for AB0 blood group using the absorption-elution test, was sufficient to assess the keratin phenotype. This method allowed for the simultaneous determination of AB(0) antigens and keratin phenotype in the same hair fragments, providing a valuable tool for forensic investigations.
