TLDR A man had a black pore on his cheek, which was removed and found to be a hair follicle tumor.
A 65-year-old man visited a dermatology clinic with a 3- to 4-mm pore on his cheek, which had been present for 6 years and frequently extruded a black substance. The lesion was diagnosed as a trichofolliculoma, an adnexal tumor originating from hair follicles. Histological examination revealed a dilated, keratin-filled invagination lined by keratinizing squamous epithelium, with numerous projections showing follicular differentiation. The patient's request for excision of the pore was fulfilled.
