TLDR The Golden Retriever's skin condition improved after treatment.
A six-year-old Golden Retriever with alopecia, itching, and erythema was diagnosed with patchy demodex infestation and secondary bacterial infection at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Nepal. The diagnosis was confirmed through skin scraping and microscopic examination. Treatment included medicated ketoconazole shampoo and systemic administration of fixotic advance and Amoxicillin clavunate 375 mg for the bacterial infection. After 2 weeks, a follow-up skin scraping test was negative, and the dog's lesions were healing.
