TLDR A CCS patient with severe complications was successfully treated using combined therapies.
Cronkhite-Canada syndrome (CCS) was a rare, non-inherited disease marked by symptoms such as gastrointestinal polyposis, chronic diarrhea, ectodermal dysplasia, skin hyperpigmentation, hair loss, and nail atrophy. Despite the demonstrated efficacy of corticosteroids and immunomodulatory agents, no standard therapy regimen was established, and the prognosis remained poor due to complications. A reported case involved a CCS patient with severe sepsis and disseminated intravascular coagulation who was successfully treated using combined modality therapies, including recombinant human soluble thrombomodulin.
