Veltam F by Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd is an oral medication containing 0.4 mg of Tamsulosin and 5 mg of Finasteride. It is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker that relaxes muscles around the bladder and prostate gland to facilitate easier urination. Finasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that reduces the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), causing the prostate gland to shrink and alleviating urinary symptoms. The combination of these two active ingredients helps relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, and prevent the progression of BPH. It also reduces the risk of requiring surgery for this condition. The product is available in tablet form.
