The Effect of a 1550 Nm Fractional Erbium-Glass Laser in Female Pattern Hair Loss
December 2011
in “Journal of The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology”
TLDR Laser treatment increases hair density and thickness safely in women with hair loss.
The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a 1550 nm fractional erbium-glass laser in treating female pattern hair loss (FPHL). The study involved 27 patients who received 10 laser treatments over five months. The results showed a significant increase in hair density and thickness, with no significant adverse effects. The study concluded that the 1550 nm fractional erbium-glass laser may be an effective and safe treatment option for women with FPHL.
