This study conducted in Turkey aimed to determine the frequency, severity, and related factors of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in a dermatology outpatient clinic. The study found that AGA was more common in men than women, with prevalence and severity increasing with age in both genders. Family history of AGA was found to be a significant factor in both men and women. The study also found a significant association between AGA and hypertension in men, and dyslipidemia and smoking in both genders. The study concludes that AGA is a common condition in dermatology clinics and should be evaluated in terms of its potential systemic effects.
