TLDR Toupees improved perceived attractiveness, especially by older people, but had little effect on perceived self-assurance and health.
The study reviewed involved 13 men with male pattern baldness and evaluated the impact of wearing toupees on their perceived attractiveness, self-assurance, and health. The results showed that toupees significantly enhanced perceived attractiveness, particularly among older judges. There were gender differences in attractiveness ratings, but self-assurance and health assessments were less affected by the men's hair status or the gender of the judge. The study was praised for its clear language, strong conclusions, and potential to contribute to further research in the field.
