Safety and Efficacy of Hair Growth Promoting Product in Adult Human Subjects With Alopecia
December 2023
in “Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology”
TLDR The hair growth product was effective and safe, increasing hair growth, thickness, and density while reducing hair fall.
A study conducted on 29 adults (15 females and 14 males) suffering from hair loss evaluated the safety and efficacy of a hair growth-promoting product containing plant-based active ingredients like REGENDIL™ and 5 kDa Hyaluronic acid (HA). Over a 60-day period, the product significantly increased hair growth rate by 31.62%, hair thickness by 34%, and hair density by 40%. The percentage of hairs in the growth stage increased from 57% to 80%, while hair fall reduced by 42%. The product also improved scalp condition and hair quality, with all subjects reporting less frizzy hair and improved hair volume, reflection, plasticity, density, shininess, smoothness, and reduced hair oiliness. No adverse events were reported, indicating the product was safe and well-tolerated. The study's limitation was the lack of a comparative group and a small sample size, suggesting the need for further research on larger populations.
