The study evaluated the acute and repeated dose toxicity of Linkus syrup, a polyherbal formulation, in Wistar albino rats. It found no mortality or significant adverse effects at doses up to 5 g/kg. Repeated doses of 20, 500, and 1000 mg/kg did not significantly alter most blood and urine parameters, though some changes in ALP, creatinine, and protein levels were noted. The syrup effectively reduced cough reflexes at 300 mg/kg without observed toxicity. Overall, Linkus syrup was deemed safe and effective for treating cough in the tested animal model.
