TLDR FGF-2&D/P nanoparticles can help treat hair loss.
The study investigated the effects of fibroblast growth factor-2-containing dalteparin/protamine nanoparticles (FGF-2&D/P NPs) on hair growth in 12 volunteers with thin hair. Participants applied 1 mL of FGF-2 (100 ng/mL) and D/P NPs (56 μg/mL) to their scalps twice daily for 6 months. Results showed a significant increase in hair diameter, with objective improvements in two cases and enhanced hair bounce and resilience in nine participants. The study concluded that transdermal application of FGF-2&D/P NPs could be a new treatment for alopecia.
