TLDR Zinc supplements improved hair and skin conditions in two patients.
The document reports on two unrelated patients who presented with a range of symptoms including dry brittle hair, alopecia, trichorrhexis nodosa, dry scaly skin, pigment dyschromia, short stature, and neurosecretory growth hormone deficiency. The first patient was diagnosed with zinc deficiency through a zinc tolerance test, while the second patient did not show a clear zinc deficiency. Despite the diagnostic differences, both patients experienced improvement in their hair and skin abnormalities after receiving oral zinc therapy.
