TLDR Finasteride tablets and capsules work the same in the body.
The study aimed to evaluate the bioequivalence of finasteride in tablet and capsule forms in 24 healthy volunteers using a single oral dose of 15 mg. The research employed a reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method to measure finasteride concentrations in plasma. The pharmacokinetic parameters, including half-life (T 1/2), time to reach maximum concentration (T max), maximum concentration (C max), and area under the curve (AUC), were similar across the tablet, capsule, and control tablet groups. The results indicated that the finasteride tablet and capsule were bioequivalent to the control finasteride tablet.
