TLDR Glucocorticoid treatment improved symptoms in a girl with Satoyoshi disease.
Generalized komuragaeri disease, also known as Satoyoshi disease, is a rare disorder characterized by symptoms such as painful muscle spasms, alopecia, and endocrine issues. In a case study of a 15-year-old girl, treatment with glucocorticoid led to significant improvement in her symptoms, including the cessation of muscle spasms, regrowth of hair, and normalization of menstruation. The study suggested an autoimmune process might be involved in the disease's pathogenesis, as indicated by the positive response to glucocorticoid treatment.
