TrichoScience

TrichoScience

TrichoScience Innovations Inc. is a Vancouver, Canada-based company studying proprietary cell therapy technology to restore and regenerate hair.

TrichoScience is currently undergoing trials, but no data is available. Their research and development activities are "conducted at the University of British Columbia's dermatological facilities at the Vancouver General Hospital and at laboratory facilities in Germany and Austria".

TrichoScience claims that the procedure will be patented, and the technology will be licensed to existing hair transplant clinics.

Although TrichoScience gives scant scientific detail, they claim some very specific procedural details:

  1. As few as 10-20 hair follicles are extracted from a patient
  2. The patient's follicle cells are laboratory replicated through the cellular replication process
  3. The replicated cells are injected back into the patient's areas of thinning hair or baldness
  4. The implanted cells induce the formation and growth of new hair follicles and also help rejuvenate damaged hair follicles

The price is projected as falling between $16,500 to $29,500. This puts it in a comparable range to hair transplants.
