Five Years

Five Years, or Still Five Years Away is jokingly referred to as the magic number and phrase invoked by companies and scientists predicting when their product may come to market. It's thought to be a generic ballpark estimate when researchers have no idea when their work will come to fruition.

Because it has been so overused through the years (citations needed), hearing this phrase invokes collective groans from the hair loss community.
